Veterans & Military
Information for veterans and military-connected adults exploring ketamine treatment for selected mental health and chronic pain conditions.
Why veterans contact our clinic
Veterans may seek information about ketamine because of persistent depression, PTSD symptoms, neuropathic pain, or chronic pain that has not responded adequately to prior care. A consultation is designed to determine whether ketamine is medically appropriate—not to assume that it is.
Ketamine should be part of a broader care plan
For mental health conditions, ketamine does not replace comprehensive psychiatric care, psychotherapy, safety planning, or other evidence-based treatment when those services are indicated. For chronic pain, treatment should be coordinated with the patient’s broader medical and rehabilitation plan when appropriate.
What we review before treatment
- Current symptoms and diagnoses
- Prior medication and therapy history
- Cardiovascular, neurologic and psychiatric risk factors
- Substance-use history and current medications
- Transportation and post-treatment support
Veteran referral coordination
We can provide a clear referral pathway for outside physicians, therapists and care coordinators. Any coverage or authorization requirements should be verified before treatment.
